Bentonville Battlefield
The Battle of Bentonville, fought March 19-21, 1865, was the last full-scale action of the Civil War in which a Confederate army was able to mount a tactical offensive. This major battle, the largest ever fought in North Carolina, was the only significant attempt to defeat the large Union army of Gen. William T. Sherman during its march through the Carolinas in the spring of 1865. Only 18 miles from the motel.

The largest pork retail store in the eastern US and we are only about 30 minutes from the main store.
If you go for a visit you will want to bring a cooler and stock up because they have tons of product and their prices are good. People come from all over to go to this store, it's certainly an interesting experience and worth the trip

Tuckers Lake
Tucker Lake is just 12 minutes from us. It's a 30 acre lake fed by clear spring water with white sand beaches. The have a water slide, rope swing, floats for the smaller kids and a great shaded picnic area complete with grills. Our pick for a great outing for the whole family. They opening for the season in May

Howell Woods
Great place to fish only about 10 miles from the campground. The only "catch" is that you have to make reservations before you go and they do not have anyone in the office on the weekends. Give them a call if you are staying with us before you arrive if you will be here on the weekend. Fee is $5 for adults and $3 for kids, a valid NC fishing license is required.
